Suffolk County Community
College: In February 1961, Suffolk County furnished a 130 acre
site (formerly the Suffolk County Sanitorium) to Suffolk County Community
College for their Ammerman Campus. Dr. Alfred M. Ammerman was the college's
founding president and so the Selden Campus was named after him. Today,
the College is a thriving 2-year college with and enrollment of 11,000
students on the Ammerman Campus.

To get there:
From the intersection of Boyle Road and Middle Country Road, head east
on Middle Country Road about 1/8th of a mile to College Road. Make a
right turn onto College Road and head south. At the intersection of
College Road and Mooney pond Road, make a right (this will still be
College Road). Head southwest about 2 miles. Make a right turn into
the main entrance of the Campus (on the north side of the street).
