Gardiner State Park - A local secret, Gardiner State Park has over 230 acres situated on the Great South Bay. There is a picnic area, a pond, a number of wooded trails that you'll enjoy walking down. Some of the trails lead directly to the bay. To Get There: From the corner of Clinton Avenue and Montauk Highway(Main Street), make a right hand turn. Head west on Montauk Highway about 2 miles. The park entrance will be on the left at the intersection of Montauk Highway and Manor Lane. Back to the top! |

The Band Shell - The Band Shell is located in the heart of downtown Bay Shore. It overlooks Watchogue Creek and is used for many of Bay Shore's free summertime concerts. To Get There: From Clinton Avenue and Montauk Highway(Main Street), make a left-hand turn. Take Montauk highway east about 1/4 of a mile. The Band Shell is on the right side between Ocean Avenue and South Park Avenue. Back to the top! |

The Marina - The Bay Shore Marina is one of the largest marinas on the East Coast. Some of the facilities include a playground, a paddle wheel boat, a World War II Memorial, Benjamin's Beach, a dock and a boardwalk. To Get There: From Clinton Avenue and Montauk Highway (Main Street), take Clinton Avenue south to end (about 1 mile). Continue straight, passing through the Atlantique toll booths into the Marina. The Long Island Aquarium - The Long Island Aquarium is slated for completion sometime in the year 2001. To the right, is a tabletop model of the design. Upon completion, the aquarium will be centrally located in Bay Shore and boast a 400 seat IMAX theater, a gift shop, state of the art displays and numerous educational programs.
